But lacquer thinner is not lacquer thinner, hardware stores sell a blend with all kinds of crap in it. I get the paint quality kind from NAPA and it has never caused a CH with me. But you should wear a painters mask, and leave windows wide open with a fans constantly changing the air.
In the last couple of years, I removed the vinyl floor covering and went to ceramic in my three bathrooms and waiting for the day to do my kitchen in ceramic, but that's 400 square feet. Tile layers around here want 3-5 dollars per square foot (without the cost of the tile) with the floor ready to lay, more if they have to rip the old floor out. Preparing the floor is the worse part of the job.
