but what the heck. Over 75% of my real estate taxes goes to the various school districts and is augmented by state income taxes. Each year the real estate taxes are adjusted for the inflation index, going back just 13 short years living in the same home, my taxes have trippled! My schools have the latest computers and software, not good seeing a kid that doesn't even know what a T-square looks like using the latest most expensive version of AutoCad or the auto shop has a brand new Suburan to tinker with.
I think your boss can afford to be nice. Not so in industry where you have to show a profit for every minute you work plus put up constantly with unfair national trade practices, yeah, we have to help the Chinese, Japanese, Isralel, Egypt, India, all of South America, but in unfair competitive prices.
Those countries don't have to put up with our EPA and OSHA laws, equal employment opportunity, unions, have a much lower standard of living, but yet we are expected to compete. So our industry bosses can't afford to be nice. Sorry for blowing off steam, guess it depends what side of the fence you are on. By the way, my earnings did not tripple in the last 13 years.
Sick or not sick, either produce constantly, or you are out. That's the real world.
