TMJ is the temporal mandibular joint (the jaw joint). Popping in the ear, like you explained, that gets popped with the jaw is definitely TMJ related. Mention it to your dentist. Splints (mouth guards like hockey players & football players wear) can be made that fix the problem. If you're thinking of just letting it go because there's no pain, DON'T! If it is TMJ, the continued problems may contribute to arthritis in that joint.... so go see your dentist...
