Up till now my regular doctor has been treating me. She seems real knowledgable on CHs and everything seemed to be ok. Well, she wanted me to get oxygen for the house. Insurance denied it saying they need more clinical evidence. Up till now I only used O2 once at the doctors office. I used Prednisone and currently taking verapamil (sp?). My doc got me a referal to a nuero saying the insurance would ok my O2 if he reccomended it. This guy is supposed to be one of the best. I go to his office, he has all kind magazine articles framed on his wall about how he has been rated one of the top doctors to go to. So I'm feeling like I'm in pretty good hands. We go through all the normal questions, etc. He says he agrees that I have CH. ( I was like duh!). But, he says he won't sign off on the O2. Instead he gives me Imitrex. He says he's been more successful with it than O2. He says if it doesn't work and I really want the Oxygen later he'll sign off on it for me.
I know several people on here have used both, what has worked better for you? Does this sound unusual to anybody. I guess I'll use the Imitrex and see how it goes. I've never used it before. Not really looking forward to injecting myself. Should I push for the Oxygen or just go with it for now and see how it works out.
