The latest estimates are that the male/female ratio is between 3:1 and 6:1. Regardless, there is no doubt that women suffer clusters.
My first few cycles, 19 yrs ago, were similar to yours - only one attack per day and always at the same time in the evening.
Why are you afraid to use the Imitrex? I'm not familiar with any recent news reports, but assuming you have no serious heart problems, Imitrex is fairly benign, as meds go.
