I am a 35 year old female RN and I have suffered from severe headaches for over 10 yrs. I am in the investigative stage of considering whether I have Clusters. (one GP diagnosed me years ago) I am finding this web page very informative and an awesome start for me. I was particularly shocked to find the description of the hardened area some of you have at the back of the neck/head with chronic types. I have had a lump in the back of my neck with headaches for years.
I have been taking Zomig for headaches for roughly 5 years now and finding that this last cluster I am taking 5mg up to 3 times a day..( I also take Tylenol #1, 3 tabs, Motrin 400mg, and gravol 50mg for each headache as recommended by my doc.)Stronger narcotics have never worked very well. I have tried the usual Imatrex and the newer Amerge with no luck. As you all know trying new drugs is torture when they don't work. My headaches are starting to limit my lifestyle in recent years as I can't go anywhere without my bag of pills. I am finding that my stomach is always upset, wondering when the next headache will come. I have NEVER had a headache go away without drugs of some kind. I am interested in asking you all what are your current drug regimes...please feel free to email me privately if you like. Has anyone found the use of benzodiazepines like Clonazepam and Xanax either help or hinder this condition? Thanks Ahead
