not trying to cause any controversy but....years ago...I think around 1993, I used Stadol, I knew then it was addictive cause my Pharmacist told me so...I used it once and could not tolerate it..I heard horror stories about the addiction potential...I work in an addiction center...just the other day, a patient came in that has a law suit against a Doc for giving him oxycontin, hydrocodone and Vioxx...he has a history of being an addict...My question is...Where is his responsibility???? The Docs today are damn if they do and damn if they don't...if they refuse to treat your pain, they get sued, if they treat it and you get addicted, they get sued...No wonder, we don't see Docs alone in private practice anymore..they have 20 Docs in with them..They can not afford the frigging insurance to cover their ass against lawsuits..This topic burns my bums (butt) up! Sorry, got off on my soapbox here...But, somehow, we have to take responsibility for our own actions folks...WE PUT THOSE DAMN PILLS IN OUR MOUTH...we are not ignorant..give me a break...I admit,,,there is a few cases where the person is ignorant but it is few and far between..Most of the time it is someone just wanting to make a fast buck....smiles,nancyc
