I've worked for the California State University System for 24 years. The last 8 years, under Republican Governor Pete Wilson were fat city. Increased budgets, nice cost of living raises, building new facilites, increasing enrollment, even added performance raises for outstanding work performance (imagine that, civil service workers being paid for performance and not just longivity).
Then we went and elected this pasty faced Gray Davis. Inside of two years the state is back to a deficit. We're implementing a hiring freeze and cutting our budget 15%. The only happy people are the union bosses (note: bosses, not working members). Gray's been real good about paying them back for supporting his election.
You can bet he won't be a 2 term governor!
