You probably awoke one morning with the most excrutiating pain in your head that you could ever imagine. Your first thought was that you had suffered a stroke, or some other serious ailment. When you went to the ER, or to a Neuro, they ordered MRI's, etc., to see if something were wrong inside your brain cavity. After several days of tests, and finding nothing, if you were one of the lucky ones with a knowledgable MD, you were diagnosed with Cluster Headaches.
Not having any idea what CH's were, you began to look for information. Some of you did a search on the web, and found this board. You rejoiced to find others that endured the same affliction that you are stricken with.
Welcome to this board. It is a little piece of the world. You will find conservatives and liberals here. You will find the devout and athiests here. You will find the outspoken and the quiet here. You will find those who want to fight, and peacemakers here. In short, you will find diversity of culture, religion, and personality. But we are often reminded that the common theme is cluster headaches. We all have them.
There is some valuable information here. Many different medications are discussed. If you have a question about a particular one, someone out there has used it, and will help you. You will find some very common themes. Oxygen and Verapimil are most-oftem mentioned as preventatives and/or abortives. But you will find many more things mentioned, some very unconventional. All are allowed to express their ideas, and readers are allowed to choose.
The one thing that will arouse the ire of this entire board is someone trying to sell suffering people quack cures. They will be immediately asked to leave, in varying ways. The board is not here for profiteers to use for their own benefit.
It is here for sufferers to support each other. This has become a close-knit community. When you see one in trouble, you usually see many who leap to support the one. If you have trouble, many here will do what they can to help you. Don't expect all posts to be dry CH-related posts. There is comedy and tragedy here.
