...on this date, the WWI armistice was signed. Since the end of the war to end all wars, many more have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Just one of these was a man named Joseph L. Galloway. He fought as a Marine in the Ia Drang Valley in Vietnam in 1965. He survived, and later in life became the security chief of Morgan-Stanley, a company in the second Twin Tower to fall. Mr. Galloway, on 9-11, led the employees down the stairs in an evacuation plan that he had made them practice several times before. When his people were safely out, Joseph Galloway went back up the stairs to help guide others. The building collapsed on him and the other thousands. In 1993, he wrote a book called, "We Were Soldiers Once...and Young." Today, I raise my glass especially to Joseph L. Galloway, soldier, patriot, hero. I'll keep my glass raised for all the rest, and give my thanks that I'm here to enjoy it. Thanks, Jonny, brother.
