You live in an area of the country with some of the best and most advanced medical services in the world - utilize them if you're not getting what you need from yoru current physician. You may be chronic now, but it is always possible you will migrate to episodic with time an dthe right treatments...I was 24 when I first got these (I'm 46 now). I'm not chronic, but every fall had to deal with this incredible pain. I finally was put on verapamil, which wored for me for 10 years (until this year)! Now, I'm still on the verapamil, but also on lithium which, although it's not a cure, has decreased the intensity of most of the CH's. My neurologist has just added Amerge as an abortive (haven't tried yet).This site has a lot of good information and a lot of good people who defintely UNDERSTAND what you're going through.
