I get these headaches.
They hit every so often. I get 2 to 4 headaches a day, every day for weeks on end, then they go away for months or years.
Pain is always on the left side, in the eye / temple / nose / jaw area.
My eye tears and nostril runs on that side.
The headaches last 1/2 hour to 2 hours. Usually hit an hour after I go to sleep and again around 2:30 in the morning. Sometimes I get them in the evening or daytime also.
The pain is excruciating.
Haven't found any preventative that works (except prednisone but side effects, you know).
Triptans and cafergot work well on the headaches.
I can't lay down during a headache. I move around or usually sit in a chair and rock back and forth.
Light doesn't bother me much, nor does sound and I don't vomit (unless I take too much cafergot).
Do you think I have cluster headaches or are these just meegraines?
