For the past two weeks I have had a CH attack almost exactly 1.5 to 2 hours following every significant meal. These attacks are indistinquishable from those that come during REM sleep, with the one important advantage that I don't sleep through the very early twinges that are not recognized while asleep.
I don't generally eat breakfast and often skip lunch, only eating a meal in the late afternoon or early evening. I have tried fasting for several days and no CH attacks, except those during REM stage.
I have tried eating many small meals during the day (say 5 or 6 during the day), but find that is not workable, as each tends to trigger a small CH attack. Taking Imitrex all during the day seems to lead to rebound CH attacks and that has its own set of problems.
My condition has remained chronic for more or less the past year. Over the past couple of weeks, my attacks have been running multiple times per day, with 3 being about average. It does not seem to matter what I eat, but rather the act of eating itself that is the delayed trigger for these recent attacks.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
PFD&N to all.
