I am chronic (since 9/00). I have CH and migraines. Please, I understand the need for narc's when you are in such pain, but please be careful. Your doc has you on 10 vicodins. That is a strong dose if you ask me. I will say that vicodin doesn't stop my CH at all. If I get WAY out of control, the only thing I WANT is morphine. It stops them, but if I don't fall asleep ASAP after the shot in the ER, I get MAJOR rebounds the next day.
Anyway, read the site, there are MANY alternative solutions to your pain. E.G.
O2 - talk to your doc about o2 and get some and take it at the first sign of CH.
Imitrex - expensive, but works well for lots of folks and without the addictive qualities of vicodin.
Water - Read up on water intake.
Please, please don't depend on the narc's too much. They can change your thinking and hurt you worse in the long run.
I hope this message finds you pain free. You take care and keep us posted.
Peace,
Brad
