Hi all!
Boy, am I glad I found this site! I have a question for all fellow suffers, that I hope maybe someone can answer. I'm a 28 year old male that's been suffering from headaches since I was 16. I've actually suffered from 2 different/destinct headaches, and I just wanted to know if anyone else has had the same conditions.
The first type, in my opinion, sounds like the classic cluster headache. They come on for a few hours, a constant throb behind my left eye only, causing it to turn red and teary. I can't even walk outside because the sun blinds me! They have woken me up in the middle of the night, and can come and go for days on end, then disappear for months. This has gone on for nearly 12 years. Knock on wood, but it has been almost a year since my last attack, and I'm praying that they never come back!
The other type that I've had has been what I refer to as "bullet" headaches. They last only a couple of seconds, but the pain is 5 times more intense than three hour version. They feel like a quick stab right through my left eye to the top of my head. (Or it could be from the top of my head through my left eye. It's hard to tell because the pain is so intense, it almost paralyses me!)
What concerns me, is that although it seems that the first type of headache has subsided, this second, more painful variety has increased in frequency. This second type used to happen maybe 5 or 6 times a year. Letely, they've been hitting me about 4 or 5 times a week.
Help!!!!
