you are very lucky, to be hit "only" every two years. However, unbearable pain is unbearable pain, no matter the frequency. There is no suitable answer to your question. I think that they will last until they last no more. There's no predicting or rule of thumb. Hopefully, you have help, such as meds, oxygen, etc. to help you through your rough times, and a great life to help you through the rest. Best to you.
