David, most health care plan have an appeals process.
Imitrex was designed as a migraine drug, so most health
plans have some kind of a limit....frequency of the target
headache as well as expense created that limit.
However, if your Dr follows the "appeal" process which generally
requires a faxed form or letter you should be able to
receive the max physical dosage which is two injections/day.
Sorry, I don't know about the max dosage for the nasal.
You might try the injections for two reasons: the "imitrex tip" on
the left button might work for you..if it does, imitrex also comes in
vials so that you may reduce the dosage; and the injections work faster.
Anyway, my husband found that only 2 mg of the injection killed the HA
with only a few minutes longer to take affect.
