Your sleep issue is pretty common. There is one body of research which links attacks during sleep to a fall in blood oxygen levels. Another group of studies link such attacks to sleep apnea which has been diagnosed in a number of clusterheads. It makes sense that the two ideas are linked in that sleep apnea involves impaired breathing and, ergo, reduced oxygen levels.
In any case, finding a good doc is an essential first step.
