I suspect the reason you are able to indulge so freely now is that you were able to halt the cycle in the preliminary stages... before The Beast was able to get any kind of toehold at all.
The more posts I see here, the more I become convinced that this is the best strategy... take a decent dose as soon as you are certain that the cycle is approaching, but before the headaches themselves actually arrive. Of course, chronics don't have that option, but I do think that every episodic should be prepared for his/her next cycle with the correct kind of fungus.
