Hey Gang,
Sorry I have not dropped a line sooner. I have not been getting online much as of late, but I do what I can. Been too much happening as usual, and it seems that right now is a bad time for everyone.
First off, I want to send my deepest sympathy to anyone on the board who may have lost a loved one in the WTC attacks. Though I didn't know any of those who lost thier lives, after seeing the faces and reading about each victim, it affected me in a way I will not even attempt to explain. I am praying for the families involved (yes, I am regaining my faith little by little), and also for those in our armed forces who will inevitably face the enemy in our defense. I agree with what DJ said below. The history of our world is in jeopardy.
As usual, things are not so gravy for me right now. I did have one bit of good news last week. All of my test results are in and all returned negative. I am taken aback somewhat, as with the previous results - I beat 90% odds. For once, it seems - something has gone right.
The best thing to happen, a friend of mine hooked me up with an Internal Medicine Doc who treats alot of HIV patients, and he did the last round of tests on me. He also is treating me for CH, and I have to say, this is probably the best doc I have found in years, and he is someone who cares for his patients. That in itself is a rarity nowadays. It might have to do with the fact that Dr Parks himself has a Cluster/Migraine variant (yes, I know I will be shot for saying those two words together, but he explained his headaches to me AFTER I told him about my CH and recent battles with it, and yes - there is such a thing.)
Anyway, the new battle plan has been Celexa in the morning, Trileptal in the evening, and Vicoprofen for pain. Unfortunately, I had to stop taking the Trileptal, as I had a very bad allergic reaction to it Saturday night. So I am calling today to see what he wants to do at this point.
Has anyone tried Trileptal? All I know about it is that it is a lesser form of Tegretol, and is in the same line of drugs as Neurontin and Depakote.
I had 2 very bad, no good, rotten attacks tonight, but they did not reach level 10, as I suspect the Vicoprofen helped to lessen the severity.
Just wanted to drop a line and let everyone know I am still alive. Like I said, I don't get online much anymore, but will be able to check messages periodically. I hope everyone else is doing good and staying strong. Even if you do not believe, please say a prayer anyway for those affected by the events of the last week. For in truth, it affects us all.
Peace,
Carl D
