The one place I'd disagree is that while they have fought the Soviets (both the Taliban and Bin Laden, etc...) they were getting US money during that and the backing of NATO forces in one way or another. This is all frozen now and quite a fair amount of the world has joined us in fighting both of them. Now, what this means is that the US casualties will still be quite high, but the soldiers will probably be the safest ones and it's our citizens who'll suffer from terrorist attacks. I hope my nation still has the stomach to let this needed war be fought with that knowledge. But that aside, it's good to see someone talking about this with actual knowledge of very recent history and a basic comprehension of recent world events and a real understanding of the situation at hand. We are facing something too important to go at it any other way.
