The PURPOSE of this MB is SUPPORT!
All day I've been reading that we should censor our language and we shouldn't censor our language and we should stick to only CH topics and the hell with that etc.
In the years I've been coming to this board the one thing that's remained constant is the SUPPORT. The language, the spelling, the grammar - nothing else matters - it's the support that brings people here. That was what this board was set up to do - give support to those who need it.
But we have to realize that we're all different. We have differnt personalities. We come from different backgrounds. We don't all write the same, we don't all talk the same, we don't all have the same education - we're all DIFFERENT! What we have in common is WE HURT! Some of us cover up our hurt by making jokes, some cover up by whinning, some actually ask for help, some ask for sympathy, others offer help when they need it worse. We all do things in our own way. But we all try to offer each other support and get the support we need from each other.
The ones I feel sorry for are the ones who get mad and leave because they don't take time to get to know the others on the board. They don't read between the lines and get to know how wonderful these people really are. They just take them at what they write and draw conclusions that they are ignorant or arrogant or blowhards or whatever. Those are the ones who are missing so much. And the doctors who come here and write us off as "kooks" - well I say the hell with them - they probably are not worth OUR time either.
I'm glad I stayed around for the support I needed and hope a lot of you newbies do to. Of course that's just my opinion, but I think everyone's entitled to it.
