I started at 240 and was very lucky with verapamil, my severe attacks dropped to shadows within three days. When I doubled the dose to 480, the shadows were gone in about two days. Most people have to take the drug for about two weeks to see any benefit.
BUT, from what I read here the best success comes from the 240-480 and up dose. The dose you describe almost sounds like it is too low and not in the correct mg. I take VerelanSR 240 and most seem to take 240mg as the initial starting dose. I am not a Doctor, so you should do some research on this board and get an idea of what is successful. Some do not have any success with verapamil, but I think a small part of that failure may be attributed to the dosing.
Research this and then consult with the Doctor. I do hope you have one that is willing to listen to his patient.
