Hey gang, we're not the only ones with problems. There's a whole bunch of chronic pain sufferers out there and there problems mirror ours completely. They can't get meds either and docs are hard to find.... sound familiar?
This show came on and when they said "chronic pain and headaches" I started listening. These people sounded like us.
It was mostly about narocotics and the problems with getting enough to do any good and some snobby docs saying "Well, they just need to learn to live with it!" and "IT's all in their heads" and crap like that. One woman was a news anchor and now she's disabled and can't get out of her house because of the pain. She's ashamed for anyone to see her. Thinks about suicide... anyone heard this before?
And they have a few doctors who ARE prescribing enough meds to help and what does our wonderful government do - it takes away their license. They interview one of the docs (who has since gotten his license back) and while he was suspended several of his patients committed suicide. Government did a great job on that one.
Some of these people have gotten mad and formed an association American Society for Americans in Pain (ASAP) and they've already marched on DC trying to get something done. I just wrote the President of ASAP and told him about OUCH and invited him to come visit us. I think they have the right idea. Heck, they got a whole hour on TV. He probably knows more about CH than he ever wanted to know now. LOL!
Ya'll watch the TV guide and if that show comes back on (It was Investigative Reports on A & E) be sure to watch it. It's worth an hour of your life. It really was good and I don't watch TV - I just keep in on for the dogs and noise.
