Feel free to e-mail me and I'll tell you all about surgery. Had it done a few years ago. Didn't help the headaches (I knew the risks going in so it was MY call - I'm not blaming the doc).
I have optic nerve damnage, a facial paralysis and permanent loss of feeling in the left side of my face. A few months later we discovered Topamax and I went into remission from the headaches. The surgery didn't work and could have been avoided had we discovered the topamax BEFORE, but we didn't.
Do I wish I hadn't had it done? You bet your bippy I do. Do I discourage anyone else from having it done - You bet I do. Am I bitter - no way. What good would that do me? The doc (Dr. Wayne Hurt - Houston) gave me every bad thing that could happen and I was to the point that I decided to do it. But it is NOT reversible. Remember that.
E-mail me and I'll give you the day to day problems of being NUMB and what to look forward to.
Hugs BD
