I'm new to this site. I was very glad to find it. I've had headaches so long and been given so many explanations and prescriptions by doctors that I didn't know what to do. A few years back I just quit going to the doctors...I think it was when I realized she was just guessing at what to do. For twenty years, I had described them in detail, given doctors lists of foods eaten before, activities, etc. Guessing made me feel very disappointed and discouraged.
The headaches of course, continued. Recently, during a particularly bad one in which I didn't think I could take it anymore and yet, wouldn't go to the doctor, I went to a health food store. I wanted to try an herb that I'd been reading about. She said the herb wouldn't make it go away. It was for prevention.
She recommended Niacin to get rid of the current pain. I was skeptical, but it seemed to work. I had seven days pain free. Such joy after just one day. For the past few days I have been feeling the shadow -- lurking. but I am taking the Niacin and the Feverfew each night. And more Niacin as needed.
Has anyone ever tried this?
