First off the one I normally see has moved to Chicago
and is working in headache research, no patient practice. This is good news he is the best and I'm sure he will be working hard for all of us. So anyhow I have to see a new doctor. The first is an internal med. doctor looks like he's about 9 years old but has wisdom well beyond his years and a good grasp of cluster headaches. A very positive experience! Now I meet the new neuro she looks to be about 12 years old. Very knowledgeable talks about how we can abort the cycle and what we can do to manage pain. She starts going down the list of things to look for in possible cluster patients with the internal doc and she says to him I look at peoples charts and see how long they suffer before a doctor figures out it's clusters and it amazes me. The symptoms are so classic. Now I'm the old guy in the chair with a big tear welling up trying not to let it show. If these two are any indication of the future of medicine things are looking up.
Next time I go to see them I'm bringing them both Happy Meals with extra toys!!!!!!
