Something way too close to my house got hit with lightning tonight. Fried two tv sets, one telephone, my answering machine and assorted parts of my puter.
Best I can tell, my DSL modem bit the dust and zapped my NIC in the process. The UPS seems to have taken the brunt of it....it's apparently dead also. But my puter itself seems okay....except that I can't get online with it sans DSL.
I'm heading out to Maine for a business trip first thing in the morning and won't be back til late Friday night, so no telling when I'll be back online. With luck the new modem will arrive in my absence and I've already swapped NIC's, so hopefully I'll be back in business next weekend when I return.
In the meantime, be well and PF, play nicely and tell jonny I have no idea why he wants to kill me just because Piper put that really, really cute hat on his pic. :-)
I mean, there are so many other things that she could have done, like the ones in the link.
