Hi,
I just wanted to share with you and experience I had here in town while calling around to find a doctor. It was pretty pitiful actually.
I started at the beginning in the phone book and just started calling. The first doctor's office I called and asked if the doctor was familiar with cluster headaches. After a pause of about 2 minutes, the nurse/receptionist came back on the line and said no one had ever heard of it. I thanked her and moved on down the list.
The second office I called was the kicker. I asked my question, to which I got a negative response. Then I informed her that I had my records from previous doctors and quite a bit of information from the internet, and asked if I brought it in "would the doctor be willing to research it before I came in for an appointment?" She informed me that they would not have time to do such a thing and then asked me, "How about Monday at 2:15?" I think my jaw hit the floor. I responded with, "excuse me?". So she repeated her question about appointment time and date. That's when I lost it, and if it wasn't so ridiculous it might be funny. I said, "Ok, you know nothing about it and are not willing to learn, but yet you still want to make me an appointment?" She never said another word. So, I thanked her and hung up.
At that point I figured out that the only reason the doctors that we have left in this town are here is because they are not wanted anywhere else.
Moral to this story... if you live in my town, get a calling card.
Wishing everyone to be pain free.
Robin
