because of how you jumped me yesterday, Ree, but both August and Elaine are bringing up some very valid points on suicide. I think when a person has reached the point of questioning why they are still alive, it isn't our place to judge them or label their emotions. All we really can do, because as you say - we are NOT psychologists, is reassure them that they are wanted and direct them to get some professional help. But judging them isn't going to help them at all.
I've just read your second retort to August and although I do admire your fighting spirit, I just can't agree that that is a supportive attitude when dealing with someone who has openly admitted they have no fight left in them. Compassion has to come into play at some point. August's post wasn't written to be dramatic at all. She's speaking from heartfelt experience from the other side of the fence. And speaking quite eloquently, I thought.
