For some people it does, for some it doesn't. I've been taking gobs of it for more years than I can remember (for it's anti-inflammatory properties, not pain relief) with nary a whisper of protest from the ol' stomach lining. (Although I wouldn't ever consider taking it without also drinking at least 12 ounces of water.) However, I'm by no means suggesting that it's necessarily safe, and it is a definite no-no for anyone who drinks any more than a very moderate amount of alcohol per day. Moreover, it's analgesic effects are totally worthless for clusters. (Hope this dosn't seem like nitpicking. It's just that aspirin is a highly effective NSAID and a heluva lot safer than steroids, and for a lot of people it may be the optimal drug for certain conditions. People need to be warned about its potential hazards, but not frightened out of their wits, IMHO)
