Have you tried taking the cluster quiz on his behalf?
How long do his attacks last? Is there any corresponding nausea? Is he light/sound sensitive? Does he mention any vision disturbance prior to an attack?
I'd sure get another opinion from a different doc if this were my son, Mom.
It's awful to watch our children suffer, no matter WHAT the malady is though, and my heart does go out to you.
