I use several other boards dealing with hunting, basketball etc. and with the
exception of one board and this one, all allow no rough language or personel
attacks. Its an easy thing to do, all the boards are moderated and posts are
looked at for content after they are posted, and removed if they contain
unsuitable language or involve a personal attack. This makes these boards no
less valuable, and venting is a daily occurence. But as long as DJ feels
the board content is ok, thats the way it will be.
I believe you are right about visitors to the board and those who view the
board but do not post for fear of being jumped by the board bulldog or who
are less than impressed with the use of foul language. But that is the way
this board will always be as the most prolific posters and the owner of the board
feel it is ok.
It is also accepted on this board that no post is to private to be on the board
and yet when someone replies to this kind of post
they are jumped for not minding their own business. So stick around and try to
change what you don't think is right. And if anything on the board is
worthwhile its the support for those in trouble and OUCH. If you can help
get OUCH going you should! Just my .02.
