Keri, I use Dr. Ford as does Ken Butler. We both live in the area and think he is pretty good. He does understand clusters more than any other neuro that I have seen and I have been to three others. He doesn't have the best "bed side manner" but he is willing to try different things in order to find a combination that may work.
If you have been keeping a log of your headaches, such as when, how bad, how long they lasted, etc. it will come in handy. You will have to fill out a bunch of forms on your first visit, and your log will help you with that. You will also need to tell him what medications you have used in the past, so make a list of that too.
If you have been to other Doctors and not gotten the care you think you should have or feel that they don't understand, you will probably be pleased with Dr. Fords treatment.
He is expensive and not on my insurance program, so I don't go to him as often as I should. E-mail me if you have any questions that I may not have covered.
