Most heatlth plans have a "appeal" process concerning
imitrex. Since it was originally a migraine med and
expensive, they set limits. For instance, ours sets
the limit at 8 injections/mo. By having the Dr fax
in the reasons for increased dosage, we are able to
get the medical limit of 2 injections/day or 60/mo.
Why don't you check with the ins co b4 the visit to
the neuro so you'll be able to tell him exactly what
your ins co needs for documentation to up the prescription
limit.
