Hello all,
I have been a lurker for a couple of years but just haven't really had anything to post.
I am 34 years old and have been dealing with this monster for six years. I went the regular crap.... sinus surgery, countless drugs, a three year period of using 45-60 imitrex shots a month etc. For the last two years I have been taking 240mg of verapamil twice a day. I have the Chronic variety. Longest break I have had in the six years is two days. Most of the time it's once a day and then cycles where it can go as high as 6-8 a day for a couple of weeks. Nothing has worked. About three years ago my doctor wanted to try Prozac or Paxil. I decided not to try that for some reason, can't really remember why. Then about two months ago, my younger brother had to move to NY to start his Residency. (he just graduated from med school). When we were loading his stuff he came across a pile of sample packs of Zoloft. He gave them to me and I threw them in the closet. Two weeks ago out of desperation I started taking 100mg a day. Don't ask me why just thought that I had tried everything else. After five days I had a pain free day and didn't think anything of it. Then another, and another etc. Until today. In twelve days I have had one very short very mild (if you can call these mothers mild) headache. I don't know that it was Zoloft that did it but it is way to much of a coincidence. I am almost thinking of stopping the Zoloft to see if they come back. But can you really invite these things back on purpose? I feel liberated for the first time in six years. After two surgeries, six MRI's, several CT's 60 different drugs, $72,000 worth of Imitrex etc etc, could an expired batch of Zoloft be the THING???????????????
Any comments??
Would you guys stop taking it just to see if that was what was working>?
