A couple days ago I posted that I was trying to persuade a new (young) Dr. to come to the MB to get some first-hand info.
Yesterday I had a follow-up appt. to see him. He was called to ER and I had to see my reg. Dr., which worked out.
Anyway, I thought I would miss the new guy and I was ready for him too! Had some info off the board, website address,
etc. As luck would have it, he got back and spotted me on my way out. He asked me how I was doing and that he hadn't
been able to get to the MB yet.
I gave him the info and again stated that it would be a real boost to other sufferers to know that there's a young Dr. who
is interested enough to come to the MB to learn more. I gotta believe he will do it. Probably this weekend.
So please watch for the post.
And please, let's not blame this guy for all the problems you may have had with the medical profession. My purpose in trying
to get him here is so he can learn some of the problems we have, especially with ER, and how they should treat us. On how
the doctor should listen to us, and to try some of the things that we may hear about on the board, etc. I don't believe we
should put him on the spot diagnosing and prescribing.
I know there are alot of intelligent and caring people on this board and I'm sure each can tell him something that he can
use if and when he has to deal with a clusterhead. Maybe he will never see another CH patient besides me. BUT, he will be
aware of them and perhaps tell more Drs. what he knows. I feel we can only come out ahead on this situation.
Lastly, thank you all very much for your support and caring. When I'm hurting and can stand to use the computer, I find it
vert refreshing to come to the MB and listen to other sufferers. I don't necessarily need to talk only about CH. I have them
and I know what it's like (32 Years, 26 Chronic). It's spending some time with other clusterheads, the only ones I know! Yes,
discussing new treatments or old is fine. But the true support comes with the whole thing, which for the most part comes from
the contents of everything on this board, minus those few idiots from time to time. I think DJ knows this and is fairly content
with the way the board runs. There should be someway to honor this man for what he has done.
Maybe there is still room on Mt. Rushmore? He deserves to be there also!! He very well, with this board, saved my life.
DJ - THANK YOU!
PFDN to all,
Larry
