i had my first ch back in 1988.i discovered oxygen not too long after then. it worked some times but i still thought i was the only one with this terrible condition!i had about 2 episodes a year until 1991 when i had an impacted wisdom tooth removed.i developed dry-socket so my dentist told me. it went on for months. lots of pain killers, muscle relaxers,downers...nothing helped!!finally it went away. no ch for a couple of years. no pain at all. i thought i was normal again! then i went to another dentist for a cleaning.afterwards i had a sharp pain in my jaw.every time i would touch my lips or face a sharp excrutiating pain shot towards my temple.my new dentist said it sounded like tic douleroux (trigeminal neuralgia) so she refered me to a neuro. he diagnosed it right away, gave me tegritol more muscle relaxers and more pain killers. TN lasted for a year or so until 1995 when i got another episode of clusters. my neuro diagnosed them as well. well actually i told him what i thought it was and he agreed. i probably knew more about them than he did! no internet or ch.com back then, lots of reading and research. the clusters lasted a couple of months and then i was normal again, i thought! 6 months later i had another cluster attack 2 months of hell, no sleep, and little work... no headaches for 5 years!!! until sept. 2 2000. the worst attack ever, the day i found this wonderful web site. they went away around thanksgiving and havent been back since! i don`t know what i would have done without this message board!!! thanks to everyone. love you people!!
