I started having headaches back in February. I got a sudden, very sharp pain in my left temple that lasted for about 10 minutes. It went away and then 20 minutes later I had another. After that I noticed I had a constant headache. A couple of days later I had the sharp pain in my left temple again. I went to my doctor who told me I was having cluster headaches. This was the first time I had heard of them.
We tried several medications but nothing seemed to work. He sent me to a neurologist who put me on Depakote. It helped for some time but lately it hasn't been working. He said that I had both cluster headaches and tension migraines. I thought the headaches would have gone away by now. Sometimes I feel like my head is just going to explode.
I have been missing work because I can't sleep. I can't take this constant pain anymore but I don't seem to be able to find a doctor who can help me. I feel that I have something other than migraines but an MRI didn't reveal anything. Is this how it is for everyone who suffers with migraines? I thought these would subside by now. I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. Is there something else I can do or that I should try?
