After listening to some music from hell for about 15 minutes and ingnoring all the useless sales-pitches at Compaq, (They want us to go away)I got an infant on the other end who would help. "I can help you but that will be $39.95." The exhorbitant figure is another way to get us to go away. They know most people will be disgusted or not willing to pay that price. Me, as cheap as I am, talked the little prick out of the fee by giving him a story of how 30 or 40 years ago, people who actually answered telephones, had initiative and were happy to help. I said following a guideline or a procedure is boring and I couldn't imagine how you can stand to work that way. It worked. From then on, I had a case number and that ended the little shitheads telling me that I'd have to shell out for customer "service." I feel "serviced" by Compaq all the time. I've never dealt with a more miserable bunch. Hard to believe they still sell computers. "Compaq sucks" has a lot of visitors. Just had to vent.
