to be sensitive to others' feelings when one is having an attack, when the overwhelming inclination is to think only of me, myself, and I. Reading about the agony experienced by supporters (who desperately want to help but may feel totally helpless) can be heartbreaking. I kick myself in the butt for those times when I've disregarded the feelings of my family, and almost wish that I could turn back the clock and correct the damage by getting it right the second time.
