While it may be true that one's evaluation of a 10 could be somewhat subjective, after 50 years of this curse (episodic) I can remember most of the attacks which hit the top of the scale. For me they are all quite similar and cause me to have serious (and I do mean serious) thoughts of suicide. Lesser attacks can be pure hell, but they don't quite inspire the death wish.
Those are great suggestions for lifestyle adjustments, by the way. (I tend to carry some of them to extremes, but that's just me. We're all different, ya know.)
