the amount that the attorney gets is about 25% on s.s. claims and is paid out of what you would get for back payments ... and it is limited to a certain amount (as far as I know or am aware of) The attorneys can't charge the typical 33% etc etc...S.S. attorneys are on a different pay scale... Mine got a whole whopping $140.00 for years of work on my case...Including the inital getting of the disability when he sat in a room with me and a judge and said nothing..hahaa... I then got the S.S. Approval and he did other work for me on my case down the road...
So really not that big of an expense for some assurance when you go in to see a law judge etc...
