Topamax is my wonderdrug. After trying EVERYTHING, Topamax finally worked when the others failed. I've been in remission for over two years now (except for a few break-thrus periodically). I'm NOT cured, but I'm HUMAN now. I am a chronic CHer and it's wonderful to be human once again.
It does not work for everyone, but it's worth a try. And it does have a weight loss thingy built into it. I didn't know that until I started loosing weight I had gained on steriod and all that other stuff I'd been taking for years (almost 100 pound gain).
I've never experienced any side effects from it, but others have. Right now I'm on 200mg a day, but have been up to 400mg at times and down to 100mg at times depending on the break-thrus and how often they're hitting. I keep cafagot handy for them.
