Sue, the only thing on my mind in a Cluster is to pace and make the pain stop. If anything it is such a humbling experience that I'm just grateful to have someone nearby.
If your being hit, Clusters or not, you need to leave him or get help. If he's hit you and used Clusters as an excuse it is even more horrific. The credible thing about these Headaches is that they absorb all your attention and I find it a stretch to accept violent behavior.
