Sue, I think you might well need some real professional help and support on this one. All that anybody can do here is share our personal experiences. Those experiences vary because we all seem to suffer this condition to a greater or lesser degree. It is one of the problems we have with cluster headaces.
Speaking personally, I have never felt any violent emotions. On the contrary, just like Yazz, the last thing I can cope with when a bad attack is really underway is being near anybody. I often go out of the house and keeep on the move. Moving around is one of the ways many of us use to find some small relief from the pain. It's only when it starts to lift that I can begin to communicate with others. I have never personally experienced any loss of memory. Again, if anything, the memory of the experience is painfully fresh and sharp.
Be careful though Sue, these are just my experiences they may not be the same for your boyfriend.
This may sound a little harsh but I have to say that, cluster headaches or no cluster headaches, you should not have to suffer violence at the hands of someone else. Please get proper help. Get your boyfriend to get treatment(medical and social) from someone who knows what they are doing. If not, leave him.
