Sue , I have been known to be "unreachable" during my attacks . My girlfriend can do nothing about it . I prefer if she just leaves me alone . But this action might also be misinterpreted . ( It's the first time that I get my attacks while being with her . )
One thing is for sure . When I have this attack, there is no known soul that can help ( only strong medication ) . You have to understand that if I were you , I'd take out of sight anything which you might consider as being dangerous to him ( in case of suicide ) and just try to stay out of his way . Be calm and don't try to be too eager to help . It might be considered as nagging :( . Even though your attempts to help are true and deep within the heart .
I can remember if I was mean to someone during my attacks . But then again , I couldn't care less if the whole world exploded while I'm having one of my attacks .
Trouble is , one becomes egoistic ( if we can call it that , and have every right to be )
during the attack . I can't help but feel the intense pain which doesn't want to go away .
One cannot realize what's going on around him, and if he is violent , then I'm sure he can remember at least something . In my case it's not a total blackout, but the pain is so excruciating that we kind of " search " for a scapegoat .
In my attacks , I would sometimes visualize ( OK I'm quoting some bible scenes ) the demon Bealzebub ( I think ) who was chased ( or transferred) into those pigs by Jesus , and then they just ran into the lake and drowned .
I think you get the picture . I'm sure others have painted the devil on the wall , I don't want to be a bore .
I hope you can sort this out .
Good Luck .
