i have been getting cluster headaches for 17 years, roughly 6 months on and 6 months off, and i have been employed the whole time. i have no choice, how else could i survive, i must have an income, especially now, i am a single parent. i must admit it is extremely hard to work full time and raise a child when i am getting these god awful headaches 3 or 4 times a day and sometimes more. sometimes i just want to blow my brains out, i think i probably would have by now if i didnt have an 11 yr old boy depending on me. as far as work, ive managed to keep a job where i am on my own most of the day, ive been in outside sales and also a truck driver (current job), so when i have an attack during the day i just pull the truck over and sit and wait it out till the headache is gone. i usually only get 1 attack a day at work and might miss 15 to 30 min depending on how long the imitrex takes to kick in, and i usually consider this my lunch break. the rest of my attacks are at home in the evening or at nite like right now, here it is 340 am and i am up because i was awakened by a headache. i sleep whenever i can, because i am awakened by a headache frequently. but yes i do work, i have to, i see no other way to provide for my family, but it is difficult at times. maybe i need to look for a sugar mama haha just kidding...
