I am not sure of his exact dose of verapamil - He takes four a day, and that is all the doctor will let him right now. We have not yet found any triggers - it seems like everything for him is a trigger. He doesn't drink alcohol at all anymore (that was actually a definate trigger). He has almost given up all caffeine. He does smoke cigarettes, but has quit twice with no change in the headaches. He doesn't eat anything out of the ordinary. His only other problems are the twitching. He would definately try alternative medications - I have not heard anything about the shrooms - please fill me in! He has seen a chiropractor and a massage therapist - they make him feel better for about an hour or two after he gets home from that. We do have insurance - which is a plus - I have heard that the 02 is expensive, but we have not had the doctor recommend it to us, so we don't know first hand. The doc. did say that he will prescribe lithium at the next appointment. I am a little worried about all these medications. Do you know if lithium causes personality changes? He was on Prednisone for a while, and everyone knew it! He was a basket case during that time! Do you know anything about the surgery they can get for the headaches? Sorry so many questions - there is so much to this! Thanks for your help and everyone's support! Love, Brooke
