In the HMO I so unwillingly belong to you would have to report nothing short of a global nuclear attack to get a call from a real doctor, that mundane task is left up to a nurse or assitant.
The only time I have ever spoken to an HMO doctor over the phone was about eight years ago, he called to tell me that the advisory board decided not to renew my stadol prescrition because after using it for 8 weeks I must be addicted to it.
Gee, it sure is nice we have people looking out for us! The good doctor had no replacement drug or suggestion for what else to use in place of the stadol. So what do you do in this case, switch doctor's, about once a year, go through all the same old bullshit over and over and over,
At least that way you can stay a little bit ahead af the dreaded advisory board.
